Xu Dingyi, Executive Vice President

Executive Vice President of the New Zealand-China Association for Science, Technology and Economic Promotion, Chief Advisor for China Affairs of the Royal New Zealand Institute of Environmental Sciences, Chief Advisor for China Affairs of the University of Otago Business School, Senior Advisor of Otago Polytechnic, Senior Advisor of New Zealand Hill Lab, Senior Advisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Overseas Education College, Senior Advisor of Shanghai Children's Medical Center, Vice President of the First Shanghai Jiao Tong University New Zealand Alumni Association

In 1982, he graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He then worked at Shanghai Second Medical University (now Jiaotong University School of Medicine). In 1987, he graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of Auckland with a master's degree in engineering. After that, he worked at the University of Auckland School of Medicine and the first listed biological research company in New Zealand, serving as the head of the information department and bioinformatics department. Between 2001 and 2002, he was invited to work at Neurogene Research Company in Maryland, USA, as the director of the bioinformatics department.

 

At the end of 2008, DX Consulting was established. Its purpose is to promote exchanges and cooperation between New Zealand and China in the fields of education and science and technology. For more than ten years, the company has provided cornerstone services for the successful cooperation between the Royal Institute of Environmental Science of New Zealand and the University of Otago with relevant domestic departments. Under the planning and leadership of the company, the world's leading genetic crime-solving technology (STRmix) independently developed by the Royal Institute of Environmental Science of New Zealand was introduced to the Physical Evidence Identification Center of the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Technology Center of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department. The company assisted the Royal Institute of Environmental Science of New Zealand and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences in establishing a high-level cooperation mechanism. During Premier Li Keqiang's visit to New Zealand in 2017, the cooperation between the two sides was announced and a cooperation agreement was signed at the Chinese Embassy in Wellington. The company also prepared and established the first doctoral program in business administration in New Zealand in cooperation with China for the University of Otago, the Otago-Shanghai Jiaotong University DBA, and trained more than 100 senior management talents for the society.
