
Time flies, New Zealand China Association for Promotion of Economy and Science (the Association) has been through 20 years. The past twenty years has been a time of trial and challenge, a time of responsibility and mission, a time of pride and honour. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Association in New Zealand, with a heart of gratitude, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the leaders and partners at all levels that have shown great affection to the Association over the past two decades.
Economic globalization and the growing trend of world economic integration will bring unlimited business opportunities to our economic construction and enterprise development. New Zealand is a pioneer in developing relations between developed countries and China. New Zealand is the first developed western country to sign relevant cooperation documents with China after Chinese President puts forward the "One Belt And One Road" cooperation initiative in September. With the "One Belt And One Road" opportunity, unlimited exploration, unlimited demand, unlimited market, unlimited business opportunities, unlimited prospects are waiting for us.
The Association in New Zealand is an outcome of the development of economy in association with science and technology. We will do our best to help enterprises build innovation hubs so that their hard work can be utilise in different aspects. With the goal of science and technology innovation leading the future and implementing science and technology driven development, with the goal of economic prosperity, and win-win cooperation platform, the Association will carry forward its collective advantages, safeguard the interests of members, stimulate social vitality, and continuously explore innovation.
About President GAO
Professor Gao Yihuai, founding President of the Association, graduated from the Horticulture School of the Fujian Agricultural University. In 1986, his research work won the gold medal of the National Invention Award of China. In 1992, President Gao was selected as one of China's 50 outstanding young scientists. His research results were promoted to 27 provinces and cities in China by the National Spark Program.
In 1999, President Gao founded Alpha Group, which has successfully transformed the research into health industry. With the mission of inheriting love and inheriting health, the company has developed vigorously and become a banner in the industry.
In addition to be the chairman of the company’s board, President Gao holds several key titles: Co-director of Alpha-Massey Natural Nutraceutical Research Centre in New Zealand Massey University, Dean of Tongji-Alpha Natural Medicine Research Institute in China Tongji University, Expert of China Association for Science and Technology’s special Program, Deputy Chairman for All-China Association for Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Chairman for Innovation Entrepreneurship Steering Committee for newly returned overseas Chinese and so on.
In May 2017, President Gao was awarded the "Medal for Outstanding Contribution to New Zealand-China Relations" by the New Zealand China Trade Association (NZCTA).
