Recently, the New Zealand-China Science and Technology Economic Promotion Association (SSEAP) took the lead and joined hands with major Chinese community groups in New Zealand to warmly welcome the Ningde Municipal Government delegation of Fujian Province in Auckland and Rotorua. The delegation was led by Mayor Zhang Yongning of Ningde City, and the members included Chen Shaoxi, District Mayor of Jiaocheng District Government of Ningde City, Zhan Shaoling, Secretary General of Ningde Municipal People's Government, Wu Xinqing, Director of Dongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, Huo Liyun, Director of Ningde Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Zheng Yanjiu, Director of Ningde Municipal Foreign Exchange Service Center.

On July 17, accompanied by Mr. Gao Wei, Executive President of the Promotion Association, the delegation held the China (Ningde) - New Zealand Economic, Trade, Cultural and Tourism Promotion Conference at the Best Western Hotel in downtown Auckland. Mayor Zhang and members of the delegation had cordial exchanges and enthusiastic interactions with the main leaders of various Chinese communities, and actively promoted the tremendous changes that have taken place in Ningde over the decades of reform and opening up, especially the emergence of a large number of high-quality companies such as CATL and Anfa International in Ningde in recent years, whose influence has spread throughout the country and the world.

At the promotion meeting, Mayor Zhang was in high spirits. He used a series of data to illustrate the remarkable achievements Ningde has made in agriculture, industry and other fields in recent years. He warmly welcomed overseas Chinese, especially those from Fujian, to come home more often and experience Ningde, this vibrant emerging city, for themselves, so as to feel the myriad changes that have taken place in the motherland over the past few decades.

Director Huo of the Culture and Tourism Bureau showed the participants the film and television introduction of Ningde. Ningde has a natural deep-water port, Sanduao, and is known as "the heavenly lake on the sea, the fairyland of Buddhism, and the hundred-mile gallery". It is a resort for leisure and eco-tourism on the southeast coast of China. There is a world geological park, two 5A-level scenic spots, three national scenic spots and seven provincial scenic spots in the territory. The wonderful content shocked everyone present.

On behalf of the Promotion Association, President Gao Wei expressed a warm welcome to Mayor Zhang and his delegation. Speakers at the promotion meeting included New Zealand Chinese MP Ms. Lu Nan, former MP Dr. Yang Jian and President of the New Zealand Fujian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Chen Fuxiang. Secretary General of the New Zealand Ningde Chamber of Commerce Ms. Zheng Jie spoke on behalf of the Ningde Chamber of Commerce and the Ningde Hometown Association.

After the promotion meeting, the delegation exchanged gifts with major associations. During the subsequent dinner, Xu Li, President of the New Zealand Chinese Construction Industry Association, Liao Xiaoxue, President of the New Zealand International Women's Association, and Professor Cao Peng, President of the New Zealand Shanghai Jiaotong University Alumni Association, and other association leaders made impromptu speeches, creating an extremely lively atmosphere.

In the following days, the delegation, accompanied by President Gao Wei, visited Auckland City Government Mayor Wayne Brown and Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson, and Rotorua City Government Mayor Tania Tapsell.

The delegation also visited Anfa International Oakland, headquartered in Ningde, Fujian, and had cordial exchanges with the company's main leaders. Ningde Dongqiao Development Zone and Anfa signed a cooperation framework agreement.

During the few days in New Zealand, the Ningde Municipal Government delegation felt the affection and enthusiasm of the people in the southern half of the world, and experienced the unity and progress of overseas Chinese and the achievements they have made. At the same time, the delegation brought the development news of their hometown and the beautiful vision of the motherland to the Fujian compatriots and the majority of Chinese compatriots in New Zealand. Although time is limited, I believe that their visit is very complete and successful.
