Guangdong Provincial CPPCC delegation visits New Zealand: Strengthening scientific and technological exchanges and promoting mutual benefit and win-win results

On May 13, 2024, Yuan Baocheng, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, led a delegation to visit New Zealand. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and talent exchange. During the visit, they were warmly welcomed by the New Zealand-China Science and Technology Economic Promotion Association and the New Zealand Chinese Scientists Association.

At the University of Auckland Medical School, the delegation had in-depth exchanges with Auckland University senior professor and New Zealand Royal Academy of Sciences academician Gao Wei, New Zealand Chinese Scientists Association head Dr. Lu Guoliang, and New Zealand China Science and Technology Economic Promotion Association vice president Mao Zhenzhen. The two sides reached a consensus on how to further promote scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. Afterwards, the delegation visited the University of Auckland Medical School and learned about the latest research results in the medical field of the University of Auckland.

The next day, the delegation was invited by Anfa General Manager Chen Xiaoyan to visit Anfa International, a Chinese cutting-edge biotechnology company in New Zealand. Vice Chairman Yuan and his delegation held discussions with the backbone of the New Zealand China Science and Technology Economic Promotion Association. He fully affirmed that the Science and Technology Promotion Association, under the leadership of Professor Gao Yihuai, has made great contributions to the exchange and development of science and technology economy between China and New Zealand. He hoped that the two sides could further increase exchanges in talents and technology and jointly create a mutually beneficial and win-win situation. At the meeting, substantive and effective discussions were held on topics of common concern to Chinese and overseas Chinese.

Those who attended the symposium included Liao Xiaoxue, Vice President and Secretary General of the Science and Technology Promotion Association, Mao Zhenzhen, Vice Presidents, Huang Shaolin and Chen Hongming, Secretary of the Secretariat, who witnessed the friendly cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong and New Zealand.

This visit not only helps promote cooperation between Guangdong and New Zealand in the field of science and technology, but also injects new vitality into the friendly relations between the two countries. We look forward to more meaningful exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the future, jointly promoting scientific and technological innovation and achieving common development.
